Lake Hortonia is a 480 acre lake located in the town of Sudbury and Hubbardton, Vermont. The lake is located in a environmentally rich area known as the "lakes region". This area comprises many lakes including Lake Bomoseen to the South, Lake Dunmore to the North and Lake Champlain to the west. It is boarded by the Green Mountain National Forest.
Lake Hortonia is impounded by Lake Hortonia Dam on a tributary of Hubbardton River in Rutland County, Vermont and is used for recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1955. At normal levels it has a surface area of 449 acres. It is property of State of Vermont, Department of Fish and Wildlife.
